United Way Fundraiser – May Day Baskets

May Day is right around the corner and our Coborn’s Support Center office is celebrating! Over the past couple weeks, the United Way Committee has been busy preparing colorful cups with all kinds of goodies that will be shared with staff. Coborn’s Support Center employees have an opportunity to buy one of the cups for $2 to be delivered on May 1 to a co-worker of their choice. The money they raise will go to support United Way of Central Minnesota!

One of our company’s Core Values is Community Giving. We empower all our locations to be good neighbors and give back to the communities where we do business. Each year, our locations flex their creative muscles and come up with some clever campaign fundraisers to benefit organizations in the community, including United Way. At the Coborn’s Support Center, previous fundraising campaigns have also included Easter Basket sales, “Be Remarkable” baskets, Taco in a Bag sales, Corn on the Curb picnic and a grocery sale for Support Center Staff.

Happy Halloween everyone!  Tonight is the night when many will roam the streets and knock on doors yelling “Trick or Treat!”.  There are several things to keep in mind to keep our trick or treaters safe on Halloween night from walking in a group, with a buddy or trusted adult to what type of costume to wear that will provide some warmth on this cold Midwest evening….brrrrrr – that is almost as frightful as Halloween can be! How much is too much Halloween Candy?

Emily

It’s officially Autumn here in the Midwest, which means cooler weather, fall colors, pumpkin spice, and of course Halloween! It’s the one day in a year we see goblins, princesses, and TV stars alike, going door to door asking for candy. Now don’t call me the candy police, I’ll be the last person to say you should avoid candy on Halloween, but moderation can be a total game changer! Let’s chat a little about how added sugar in Halloween candy nutrition can really stack up. Continue reading
